Parunth vote of thanks at onnam palam

What a chief co-ordinator.heres parunthe repeating his horizon vote of thanks for us at onnam palam coz we couldnt hear it live as we were winning the network gaming competition at the time.

Horizon 2008 video presentation

The much appreciated video presentation of horizon 08 conducted by s-7 EC, produced after two weeks of hard work by Jeebu Jacob,Anish M George and Lijo Thomas in shooting the videos,editing it, etc. The first time they took all the videos and later found out that there was some problem with the head of the camcorder, so they did it all again. The narration was done by Megha Pillai. The ending video effect of the clouds moving over the college building was filmed painstakingly by Jeebu and Anish. Special thanks to Lijo's friend Manu for helping with the editing.

p.s: the praising words about the college administration is purely fictional and any resemblance of any of those qualities with anyone from the college administration is purely coincidential and unintentional.

Ammini and samathi after signing corporate deal

Jason Thomas (ammini) and emil k paul (samathi) after signing a corporate deal, namely - signing the register for receiving the blazer and uniform provided by the college. We call it a corporate deal because of the huge amount of money, we suspect our college authorities has made in providing us with such sub-standard clothing for the high amount of money paid by each student in his/her fees for uniform and blazer. Initially the blazer was given rolled up in a plastic bag. It was only after students from several batches refused to accept it, that they provided us with a blazer cover and hanger. The blazer's material is very poor and the cloth for the uniform shirt is simply shocking. Most students agree that it is the flimsiest material they have ever seen for a shirt. Its a certainty that every student will wait with crossed fingers, for the shirt to come out of the washing machine in 1 piece after the first wash. Best of luck with that. And we advice you to refrain from using any sort of detergent, washing powder, etc.

Mararikulam trip

11 of us- sharath, fido, kishore, reuben, roshan, ajin,sherin (chechi), jason (ammini), aju,oommachen (rino), and rijo (oommachens older bro) left for mararikulam around 11 am in kishores and oommachens cars. Of course we didnt know it was called mararikulam beach. We only knew of it as the beach we went to in first year. As a result we went somewhere we never intended to go at first and ended up in some place where the pedestrians said there was no beach nearby at all. After some phone calls, we concluded that it was chethi beach we went to in 1st year. But since the people there said mararikulam was better we went there. When we got there we realized this was in fact the 1 we went to in 1st yr.

Since it was still very sunny, we decided to go and have lunch first. We had lunch at a number one place.

Then we came back in high spirits and from then on it really started.










We were just lounging in the water when we saw a vallam (canoe) with an indian flag.The fishermen were trying to push it inshore. Naturally we went to help the indian flag bearers. Heres a video of our effort. This video is presented by our own ammini in real bbc-cnn style.

We came back around 6.30-7 stopped at thanneer mukkam bund on the way. Ummachen was walking around wearing a thorthe and executive shirt with his brother begging him to wear pants or go back to the car. Of course reuben wasnt wearing pants at all but at least he didnt venture much from the car. Those pics will be posted in the restricted section. Trip tomorrow 5th (saturday)

We think we are going to a beach we went to in first year.about 20 km after kumarakom i think.of course no idea if thats where we are going. The idea came up when we were sitting around in front of reubens house at 7 pm today.

completely last minute with no proper planning.just like always.he he.loving it.most of the guys r asleep with no idea there is a trip tomorrow. Now kishore and oommachens cars confirmed. Possibly fido's. Anil is asleep with no idea about any of this but i ve sent him an sms. vibu's car not sure.So tomorrow morning every1 call every1 and get the show on the road by at least 10 (gud target in theory)

If any1s reading this who hasnt gotten the message yet, call some1 in the morning or come to kanjikkuzhy around 9.30 or 10 which is where v ll probably be meeting.

Most of our readers view the blog using orkut. However most dont know how to add it to their profiles, so they visit it through others profiles. This will tell you how to add the blog to ur orkut homepage and read it through orkut itself.

Flashback - s-3 strike for anand ch and shyam

In s-3 the college management unjustly dismissed anand ch and shyam of our batch on trumped up charges of ragging.Back then the management had a ritual of dismissing at least 1 or 2 students every year for the charge of ragging,usually from the 2nd year.It gave the college an image of being strict against ragging.They didn't get a big ragging case that year so they got a small one and blew it up,adding their own invented details and passing them for facts.Funny thing was, even the then 1st year students who were supposed to be the victims, said they had no complaint at all and that the college authorities prepared a complaint and made them sign it, threatening them with internal marks and similar things. Anand was always a good student who until then had no arrears and a good aggregate. Everyone liked him. We were stunned when we heard of the college decision. But no amount of pleading would change the minds of the management who saw only their business interests and ego on backtracking on a decision they had made. It didnt matter if the decision was right or wrong. They wouldnt compromise their ego. So they threw them out. Our whole year went on strike for 2 days. Every boy and girl in s-3. No amount of threats could convince even a single person to stop striking. The whole year - ec,mech,electrical,computer,civil refused to re-enter class if the dismissed students werent admitted back. So on the second day the college gave a mass suspension to our whole year. The girls hostel authorities told them at 4.30 pm to clear out by 5.30 pm. Many of the girls were from places a good distance from the college. Basically the college had asked around 50 girls to get out of their rooms and look after themselves at dusk.The other students were outraged. So everyone went and sat on the road at the gates, blocking the college buses from leaving.And they werent going to let anyone leave unless the girls were allowed to stay at least till next morning.At first they threatened to call the police but when that didnt faze anyone they gave permission for the girls to stay till next morning.Thats how the bus blocking ended.
After that the management threatened to give a ragging police case against anand and shyam. The dismissed student's parents couldnt take that risk. So they decided to accept the injustice they were already served so that their kids wouldnt suffer more.

Thus the strike ended.

The college authorities branded the striking students as show offs and found lots of innovative ways to pick on them and punish them from then on.They now claim it was our strike that made it impossible for them to take the students back.We know how far that is from the truth.The strike was called because it was our last resort. But thats whats the college authorities says now.

Anand ch and shyam were never taken back.They are both studying in other colleges now.Havent had any news from shyam in a long time but anand is doing well.He flunked a few papers in that semester but he has cleared it all now and is doing well now.The well wishes of around 300 of their batchmates go with them.Even though teachers and college authorities stopped seeing them as one of their charges, they remain one of us forever...........
